KINAGE

Privacy

Short version: your tree never leaves your device.

What the site stores

The tree builder saves your trees, and a few preferences such as the last tree you opened, in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device. Kinage has no accounts and no server that receives it, and the calculations run in your browser.

What it does not do

The site includes no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no cookies of its own. Pages and fonts are served from the same host. Like any web host, the hosting provider, Cloudflare, sees ordinary request information such as your IP address when you load a page, and counts visits in aggregate.

Risks to be aware of

Local storage belongs to one browser on one device. Clearing site data or using a private window removes your trees, and anyone using the same browser profile can see them. Export a file to keep a backup. A family tree holds personal details about living people, so share exports with care. See keeping a family tree private.
